Town Pump, Mt. Vernon, WA

Place
Location
In a somewhat shitty party of Mt. Vernon.
Cozy, homey feel.

Was semi-tricky but I made it.

Service
Was ok but not great at all. Just two women working. Not a lot of attention at tables. Interactions I did have were good but limited.
Today
Lunch with Mom, Charlene, Sharlene in La Conner.
Walked.
Beer
Bodhisattva IPA
It's good and tasty, was cold.
Food
Inexpensive Dip under $10. Had forgotten this was even possible. I still don't think that I would score it high because it was inexpensive and "good enough".
French dip
Added Swiss.
Smallish in size. Not impressive as to bread or meat.
Orange-frilled skewers.
Jus
Indeed hot.
Salty.
Beefy.
Amount
Generous.
Flavor
Barely decent.
Some rosemary, somewhere.
Definitely not "great".
Only acceptable.
Non-meat toppings
Cheese
Meh.
Meat
Chewy, boxed roast beef.
Bread
Toasted.
Too small.
Side salad
Croutons
Good. Crunchy. Size larger than usual.
Quite good.
Made the meal.
Diced tomato
Fine. Was worried it'd be mealy but was fine.
Greens
Nice.
Cold.
Dry.
Nice size.
Shredded cheese
Plentiful.
Some cheddar.
Some mozzarella.
Sliced black olives
Great to have in there.
Diced green pepper
Made it.
Sliced cucumber
3 slices
Bleu Cheese Dressing
Cup
Small silver one.
Some chunks.
Menu
Pretty limited. Definitely bar food.
Clientele
Definite locals and characters. Apple Cup on TV. UW immediately behind.
A friendly fellow who was a Husky fan. He predicted that the Huskies would win after a "turning point" which was a 0-10 deficit. They then kneeled on the 1. WTH.
People seemed to know each other.
