Wipa Thai

Setting the stage
Was out running errands on the Thursday before my new job at Microsoft. Needed food. My mom had recommended the Papaya salad.
Food
Appetizers
Thai chips and dip
Tempura kale.
Good food. Want expecting all the breading.
Kind of crunchy dumpling balls. Bet good flavor and texture. Taste fresh but too much bread for my diet. A nice, unique treat.
Crumbs tasty.
Sauce
Fresh steamed rolls
Not my favorite. Too sweet. Nicely julienned veggies like carrot. Hoisin flavor. Overly salty.
Beef Eggplant Salad
Size
Quite small. Happy I got the appetizer.
Fresh.
Very good flavor and nice spiciness. I requested medium spiciness.
Beef
Good and browned in some places. Spicy and plentiful.
Eggplant
Green and served raw. Crunchy.
Lotus flowers
Fresh and crunchy. Light.
Garlic delight with chicken
Good flavor, nice spice. Fresh and simple.
Indeed very high quality and enjoyable.
So far so good.
Place
Music
Relaxing but it was like "nice" Spanish music.
Spanish music again this evening. Indeed good and relaxing.
Two TVs independently displaying different cooking shows.
Clean.
In a strip mall.
Started filling up at about 5:00.
Service
Water
Water service was slow, so was paying.
Water not refilled quickly.
Ice cold. Pint glasses.
Bad at greeting new clientele.
They had two people waiting my table which became confusing although it was sometimes nice to have that much attention.
Ordering
Waitress didn't even know they had a beef eggplant salad yet it's prominently listed.
Told waitress I wanted to order more soon then she disappeared. Other guy came over and asked if I'd ordered. Second guy mentioned that some stuff I'd ordered was on happy hour.
Pretty great, creative, fine food. They need to do better with their service.
