Sports Keg

It was a lovely Sunday.
A seagull, chillin'.
As mentioned, quite a day.
Covid (Omicron) was raging.
Got my car washed. Paid for the best package.
Outside of the place.
Two 'Dip choices.
Was needing more coffee.
My seat at the bar.
The side salad.
Peppered.
The Burger Dip. Note creamy processed Swiss, blue skewers, traditional French roll and dark jus.
Sandwich in hand. You can tell it's not buttered but it is toasted. The bread looks "dry".
Money shot looking tasty.
So that's pretty much it for the photo library.
Setting the stage
Lovely, sunny day out. Mid forties and no wind on perfect, blue day.
Was out running errands and needed to eat. Had been out late the night before celebrating Brian's birthday.
Sat at bar.
Was an hour before the Seahawks game. I was waiting for Hidden Wave board shop to open, which was at noon on Sunday.
The Place
Service
Friendly and prompt.
Busy-ness
Happening but not crazy. Had a decent vibe.
Ordering
French dip and burger dip options. I was feeling like burger.
Food and drink
Coffee
Fine.
Side salad
3 Cucumber slices
Croutons
Size
Quite big.
Served in advance of the sandwich, which I liked. Gave me something to do.
Actually quite good. Egg made it unique. Coldness helped and plenty of good dressing availability.
Tomato wedge
Pretty good. All I needed.
Better than diced.
Cold.
Sliced hard boiled egg
A nice touch.
Greens
Mostly iceberg.
Pretty low quality but hit the spot today.
Dressing
Comes with plenty.
Bleu Cheese.
White large salad plate.
Burger Dip
Smelled and looked good when it came out. Blue skewers.
Cheese
Creamy processed Swiss.
Although precessed, it's creaminess may have made this sandwich good.
I liked it. Dry and crunchy bread and well-done burger paired quite well with creamy Swiss and salty, hot, dark jus. The lack of buttered bread actually was great because the cheese was so creamy.
Mostly a salt taste but good.
Bread
Toasting
Toasted well but not buttered, which was okay because the cheese was creamy/buttery.
I liked that it wasn't buttered and was tough. The jus fixed that problem.
Meat
Well-dinner burger, maybe tough and dry in texture, and plenty of it.
Maybe some bonus points for amount and again, dryness helped it.
Size
Pretty big.
Jus
Mainly salt taste.
Matt need to add more beef or herb taste to it.
Plenty of it and it was dark and hot.
Dark.
Overall, I liked this place. Food was good and it was comfortable. Good place to watch a game and hang out.
As I was waiting for my bill I realized that I knew (quite well, actually, through our families and the very small Anacortes-Guemes Island community) someone sitting right by me, Chris Yaun. Chatted with him and another local for quite some time.
Other pics
Got new bindings on my snowboard.
Did this hike. Was beautiful and totally worth it. Just on a logging road but so good. Trudged through snow but loved it. Weather was near 40.
Quite a view.
Was lovely up there.
Looking West at sunset.
Looking East at sunset.
